Shelburne Select Board hears sheriff's pitch for a mental health co-responder program. Franklin County Sheriff's Office chief of staff Nicole Gertin presented the proposal, which would pair a licensed clinician and care coordinator with police on calls not requiring acute crisis intervention. The board separately voted 2-1 to appoint Treasurer Angelina J.
Bragdon as tax-title property custodian and 2-0 to name Rod McBride interim tree warden after Garth LaPointe declined reappointment. Members unanimously approved a July 4 parade permit, two Incandescent Brewing alcohol permits, and the Porch Fest permit for July 12. The board declined a Greenfield Savings Bank request to reserve eight parking spaces for staff, with Chair Rick LaPierre warning it would "open a can of worms." Resident Tamara Sloan, a former co-responder clinician, said "I don't think there's enough crisis response to begin with."
