Board of Selectmen · Meeting of June 1, 2026

Shelburne selectmen vote to auction $593,500 in tax-title land and reject a Memorial Hall liquor permit. The board voted 2-1, with Vice Chair Andrew Baker opposed, to begin soliciting proposals from auction firms to sell six town-owned parcels in a single batch. A one-day beer and wine permit for a June 13 Memorial Hall event failed 1-2, with the board chair saying "my position on alcohol in town hall has not changed, so it's a hard no from me." The board separately awarded a $38,573 repair contract to Renaissance Builders of Gill for Cowell Gym, opened hearings on a $1 million MassWorks road grant and a Shelburne Center Road bridge replacement, voted to reorganize leadership for fiscal 2027 with Baker moving to chair, and asked Franklin County Technical School to move its October capital-project vote to November.

Resident Zachary Livingston told the board its liquor vote ran "contrary to the spirit" of a town meeting-approved bylaw.
