Board of Selectmen · Meeting of February 23, 2026
Shelburne awards $306,698 bridge contract, drops early voting for May election. The Select Board voted 3-0 to hire Western Earthworks of North Hatfield to replace the Dragon Brook bridge and separately opted out of early and mail-in voting for the May 19 town election after Town Clerk Joe noted only eight early ballots were cast last year, saying "it's really a suggestion because I really am interested to know what you all think about it." The board also approved an $8,575 shade bid for the Cowl gymnasium and heard Highway Superintendent Jeff request a raise to $97,500, with member Andrew calling the roughly $10,000 increase "not out of line at all." Trustees for the regional Arms Library, Brian and Lori, presented a fiscal year 2027 budget while the board renewed pressure on Buckland over a stalled cost-sharing agreement for the library.
