Board of Selectmen · Meeting of February 9, 2026

Shelburne Select Board approves $33,000 snow-budget overrun, appoints Arthur Samuelson to Cultural Council. The board voted 3-0 to authorize deficit spending in the fiscal 2026 winter highway budget after Selectman Andrew reported crews overwhelmed by repeated storms. Town liaison Terry Walker said the Dragon Brook Bridge repair, estimated at more than $1.5 million, will need to be phased, with a $500,000 state Small Bridge Program grant request pending.

West County Senior Services District Chair Sylvia Smith reported Shelburne's assessment rose 1.61 percent, to $136,216, prompting a Finance Committee member to ask the town clerk to verify residency records, "I hate to sound like a broken record here." Planning Board members floated a $10,000 Conway School study toward a future master plan, which Chair Rick called premature given "one of the most difficult budget years" in his tenure.
